Though peerage articles, including CP V 472, have long identified Ida as a daughter of William Longspee and Ela, it is clear that their daughter Ida actually m. But there appears almost a generation difference between the two Ida's, so the chroniclers may have missed a generation and Ida may be the daughter of William's son William II.[1]
Probably daughter of Sir William Longespee II and Idoine Camville, but possibly a 2nd Ida/Idoine, daughter of Sir William Longespee I and Ela of Salisbury.[205]
