Langston & Buck show as brother of Saher IV de Quincy, whereas Weis shows him as son.
Weis, in "Magna Charta Sureties", explains:
Sidney Painter, "The House of Quency, 1134-1264" in Medieval et Humanistica XI 3-9, also his Feudalism and Liberty, pp. 230-239 provide evidences and reasoning to indicate that Robert was a younger brother, not son, of Saier de Quincy, 1st Earl of Winchester, and Magna Charta Surety. However, see The Genealogist, vol. 5, pp. 221-225, for evidence that the original identification of Robert as son of Saier was correct after all.[30, 7, 34]
