There has been some argument as to the identity of the mother of Margaret. However, Weis (in Ancestral Roots) has seen no evidence to convince him that she was not the Princess Joan.[1]

She married in 1230[15, 9], (ADT-5) RALPH DE MORTIMER, BARON OF WIGMORE of Wigmore, son of (ADT-4) Roger, Baron of Wigmore and (PX-12) Isabel (de FERRERS), who died on 6 Aug. 1246[15], and was buried in Wigmore[15]. Weis (1992) says "Her mother was not Joan, but a mistress named Tangwystl.", but Richardson (2004) provides evidence proving her mother was indeed Joan.[6, 15]
