Generation One

1. JOHN1 CLARKE of Finningham, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom was born circa 1503[1], and was buried on 3 March 1559 in Finningham[1]. He married MARGARET, who died after 1565[1]. [1]

2. JOHN2 CLARKE (John1) of Westhorpe, son of (1) John1 and Margaret CLARKE, was born on 11 Feb. 1541/2[2], died on 4 April 1598 in Finningham and was buried in April 1598 in Finningham[2]. He married in Westhorpe, on 12 Oct. 1567, (JU-4) KATHERINE COOK ALIAS CAREW[2], daughter of (JU-3) John and Alice (CARTER) COOK ALIAS CAREW, who was christened on 12 Feb. 1540/1 in Westhorpe[3], died on 27 March 1598 in Finningham, and was buried on 30 March 1598 in Finningham[2]. Generation Three

3. THOMAS3 CLARKE (John2, John1), son of (2) John2 and (JU-4) Katherine (COOK ALIAS CAREW) CLARKE, was born on 1 Nov. 1570 in Westhorpe[2], and died on 29 July 1627 in Westhorpe[2]. He married in Westhorpe, on 13 May 1600, (VA-6) ROSE KERRICH, daughter of (VA-5) William and Margery KERRICH, who was born on 13 April 1572 in Saxsted, Suffolk[4], and died on 19 Sept. 1627 in Westhorpe. [2]
NEHGR 1951:p.254 states:
Thomas Clarke was a very prosperous yeoman, and his ancestry has been traced
to John Clarke, a well-to-do yeoman, who occurs in the adjoining parish of
Finningham in the Subsidy of 1524.

She married in Newport, in 1627, (ADD-4) JOHN PECKHAM of Newport, son of (ADD-3) Henry and (CK-2) Elizabeth (BADGER) PECKHAM, who was born on 8 April 1595. [2, 5]

Generation Five

10. SUSANNAH5 CLARKE (Joseph4, Thomas3, John2, John1), daughter of (8) Joseph4 and Margaret CLARKE, was born circa 1653 in Newport, and died between 30 Aug. 1675 and 1763. She married (ADD-7) WILLIAM PECKHAM, (REV.) of Newport, son of (ADD-4) John and (9) Mary4 (CLARKE) PECKHAM, who was born in 1647[6], and died in 1734[7].
