Generation One

1. JOHN1 MASTERS was born circa 1580[8], and died on 21 Dec. 1639 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, United States[8]. He married before 1606, JANE[10], who died on 10 Dec. 1639 in Cambridge[8]. [4, 1, 7]
Came over in 1630, lived at Watertown, and later in 1633 moved to Newtown (now Cambridge), living near Brattle Street, where for a while he kept an inn. In 1631, he was the pioneer of marine engineering in this country. He made a channel 12' wide and 7' deep from the Charles River to Newtown. [2]

5. LYDIA2 MASTERS (John1), daughter of (1) John1 and Jane MASTERS, was born circa 1615[9], and died between 1650 and 1725. She married before 21 Dec. 1639, (AJI-1) PHILIP TABER[12], who was born circa 1605[5, 11], and died circa 1672[3, 6, 12]. [4, 9]
