William claimed to be descended from Sir William Walworth, who was Lord Mayor of London at the time of the rebellion of Wat Hilliard, the Tyler, in the reign of Richard II. Sir William died in 1383, and was buried in the church of St. Michael, Crooked Lane, London.[5]
