1. JOHANN MICHAEL1 NEEF was born on 26 July 1783 in Moehringen, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany, and died on 21 April 1841[3] in Hepburn Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, United States[3]. He married (1st) in Moehringen, on 14 Feb. 1813, (NC-43) EVA ROSINA THALER, daughter of (NC-14) Friedrich and (ACK-4) Anna Maria (METZGER) THALER, who was born on 19 Jan. 1792 in Vaihingen Fildern, Neckarkreis, was christened in 1806 in Moehringen, died about 1820[5] in Hepburn Twp.[5], and was buried in Hepburn Twp.[5]. He married (2nd) in Jan. 1821[5], CHRISTINA WAGNER, who was born on 1 Sept. 1795[5] in Moehringen[5]. [4, 1, 2, 3]
Emigrated to America in May 1818
Arrived in Philadelphia, September 1818 aboard "The Susan", from Amsterdam.
Michael was accompanied by his three unmarried brothers, Lorentz, Abraham, and Johannes.
The family settled in Lycoming County, PA, Blooming Grove, near Williamsport.

This family belonged to the Church of the Brethern and one reason for leaving Germany was to practice their beliefs. Section one traces Caspar Neef through Joseph Neff, 1540-1917; Section two follows the descendants of Joseph and Sophia Dorothea (Yeiter) Neff.
