Perhaps the Lois Gildersleeve daughter of John and Phebe (Durand) Gildersleeve of Orange, Essex Co., New Jersey, at http://www.veerhuis.org/cgi-bin/family?family=F31989.

A tree at ancestry (http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/9836687/person/276125628) does show this to be the case, but without sources cited. John b. 1706 is also mentioned at http://search.ancestry.com/Browse/BookView.aspx?dbid=11561&pageno=212.

"Colonial Families of Long Island, New York and Connecticut" does show a daughter Lois of that family, and the location is right, but shows her as marrying a "McCutcheon".[8]
